Dr. Garald Gordon Parker Collection

Dr. Garald Gordon Parker (1905-2000), often cited as the 'Father of Florida groundwater hydrogeology,' had a long career studying and preserving groundwater resources, particularly in Florida. Parker discovered and described both the Biscayne and Floridan Aquifers. His work was instrumental in the creation of Florida's five Water Management Districts, and he served as Chief Hydrologist for the Southwest Florida Water Management District until 1975.
