Osterweil Collection of Cigars Labels

The Osterweil Collection was amassed by John Osterweil beginning in 1979 and his search for cigar label lithographs, pertinent to Tampa, took him across the country. Mr. Osterweil's donation to the USF library was made in the hope that it would be a useful resource to those interested in the Tampa cigar industry. Notable for the extraordinary and detailed chromolithography, this collection of cigar bands and box labels were printed from 1900-1950 and represents over 100 factories and over 600 brands of cigars.
