Abstract
A partially dissected female striped parrotfish (Scarus iseri, formerly known as Scarus croicensis), taken from the area near Isla Pico Feo in the San Blas archipelago of Panama. A ruler is in the photograph as a reference for the size of the striped parrotfish.

A fish lies next to a measuring ruler from Van Waters & Rogers, Inc., with its length marked up to approximately 12 centimeters. The fish has a dark body with lighter patterns and a visible tool pointing to just below its fin.
