Abstract
Scientific researchers eating and resting inside Hydrolab, an underwater laboratory located on the seafloor which allowed scientists to live and work underwater for extended periods of time. Pictured are the following, from left to right: Dr. Clarendon Bowman of the University of Miami Medical School and Dr. Phillip Lobel of Harvard University. In this interior photograph of Hydrolab, sleeping areas can be seen on the left and food storage areas can be seen on the right. At the time of the photograph, Hydrolab was located at a depth of approximately 50 feet in Salt River submarine canyon, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.
