Abstract
Oral history interview with recreational fisherman Albert Ashley. Ashley moved to Fort Pierce in 1946 at age seven and grew up fishing the area. He knows the region designated as the Oculina Bank and sometimes fished there when it was open, but has not been there since 1994 as it was too deep for his method of fishing. Ashley has no problem with closing areas to fishing and is undecided about which fishery management tools are the best. He has noticed that fishers are not catching as much, which he attributes this to the increased number of fishers. In this interview, Ashley also discusses his personal fishing history in the Fort Pierce area.
