Abstract
An exhibit panel from "From Fiddler Crabs to a Harbor with Class: A History of Bayboro Harbor and the University of South Florida St. Petersburg" celebrating the fortieth anniversary of the University of South Florida St. Petersburg.
Since the early days in the old Maritime Base administration building, the library has occupied a central spot on campus. After the death of Nelson Poynter in June 1978, the Florida Board of Regents named the building then under construction (now Bayboro Hall) as the Nelson Poynter Memorial Library. The name came over to the present library building when it opened in the summer of 1996.
