The Neighborhood News Bureau (NNB) opened in March of 2006 and is located in its own offices in Midtown St. Petersburg. It is a working newsroom, staffed by USF St. Petersburg campus undergraduate and graduate students. It serves the USF St. Petersburg campus and the surrounding community in three ways.
- It provides training for journalism students at USF St. Petersburg campus and other schools.
- It functions as a community connection for collecting and disseminating information and news.
- It produces stories, features and announcements for the use by local and regional news media and community organizations, including The Weekly Challenger.
This archival collection covers the period 2012-2015. For more recent examples of stories from the Neighborhood News Bureau please visit their website at http://www.nnbnews.com/.
