Abstract
In the seventh episode of In the MIDst, Jennifer Slagus and Josh Palange discuss the tabletop role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons with Amberdenise Puckett, a Children’s and Teen Specialist at the Palm Beach County Library. Jennifer and Josh explore how Dungeons & Dragons fosters important creative and social skills in children and positively impacts mental health. Amberdenise Puckett shares her experience running games with both children and teens, emphasizing the game’s creative storytelling elements and the adaptability required of the Dungeon Master. She also highlights popular book series that have emerged from the Dungeons & Dragons franchise, such as the Fart Quest series by Aaron Reynolds.
