Abstract
A numerical taxonomic analysis of the species of the chiropteran genus Myotis revealed the existence of three major phenetic groupings. These may correspond to three feeding-foraging modalities. Phenetic evidence suggests the Oriental Region as a center of origin for Myotis, and a Myotis goudoti-Wke bat as a likely myotine prototype.
