Александър Радулов- Геологически институт на БАН The largest part of waters for daily and industrial necessities in the towns of Trojan, Lovech, Pleven, and in several villages come from drawing the karst spring of the Cherny Osum river. Building a dam could solve the problem of significant water shortage. The dam is not enough advisable, because there is a cheaper and more reliable water source. The Cherny Osum karst basin can provide the necessary waters. The basin collects most of the surface and underground waters. This paper describes geological and hydraulic evidences for the large potential of the karst basin. Open Access - Permission by Author(s) See Extended description for more information.
