Abstract
A survey of a cenote in Sacalum and the Chilam Balam of Chumayel suggests strongly that Sacalum, Ticul, and probably Tixtohilcheen have been a source of the mineral attapulgite used variously in the manufacture of Maya Blue, for medicinal purposes, and as a pottery temper.
