Abstract
A stygobiontic new genus and species, Stygoparnus comalensis, from Comal Springs, Texas, is described and compared with the dryopid genus Helichus. Distinctive characters of the adult and larva are illustrated with pen and ink drawings and scanning electron micrographs. This new taxon is the first member of the family Dryopidae reported from subterranean waters.
