Abstract
Marble ledger with beveled edges set at ground level. Part of fenced plot 72P. aka. “King of the Minorcans”, Benet was an influential landowner and taxpayer. His descendants include Florida’s first West Point grad Stephen Vincent Benet and writers Stephen Vincent, William Rose, and Laura Benet (Oldest City, 1983, p.155). This ledger was part of a box tomb until sometime after 1994 according to a photo by Meg Risley of the chapel that included Benet’s box tomb. It appears that a branch must have fallen on the box tomb and fractured the ledger.

Alt Text
A three-dimensional model of the marble ledger stone of a man named Pedro Bent. Mr. Benét's death date is somewhat obscured by surface damage and cracks in the marble, but reads February 5, 1870; he was 72 years old when he died. There are deep, long cracks in several parts of the ledger stone, some of which have grasses growing in them, indicating the ledger has likely been damaged for some time. Despite the cracks and sections of damage to the surface layer of the marble, Mr. Benét's ledger stone remains clean and mostly readable. The 3D model can be freely rotated, moved, and zoomed in and out, allowing the viewer to examine various details from multiple angles.
