Abstract
Dave Bowman, whose worked with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and later Florida state agencies, spanned the planning, discusses his professional career and his experiences planning, partially constructing, managing, and cessation of the Cross Florida Barge Canal project. The interview traces Bowman's entry into the Corps in the late sixties, his progression from field ranger to resource manager, and his long-term involvement with environmental management, hydrology, and public land stewardship across north and central Florida. Bowman provides first hand obserbations of landscape transformations, infrastructure remnants, community impacts, and evolving environmental policy in Florida.
