USF Geology

The mission of the Department of Geology at the University of South Florida is to provide students with an outstanding education in Geology that will prepare them to work as professionals and to address major questions about our environment and natural resources. Departmental faculty lead the academic community in exploration of a wide range of global earth science questions and challenges. Graduate students participate in this research, pursuing projects all over the world in a variety of disciplines, including hydrogeology, paleo-environmental science, karst studies, geochemistry, coastal studies, geophysics, volcanology, and tectonics. The department offers B.A., B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Geology.
