Abstract
Intergenerational programming is an important part of residential life for nearly 300 older adults at the Pines of Sarasota. At the Pines, older adults in assisted living, skilled care, and specialized Alzheimer's units can participate in dozens of innovative, intergenerational opportunities involving children ranging in age from infancy through high school. The Pines of Sarasota is a charitable, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive health care that promotes the quality of life for older adults in a residential setting. Innovative intergenerational programming represents a key component of life for both the young and the young at heart at the Pines.
