Abstract
Surui Xie, a doctoral candidate in the USF School of Geosciences, discusses a new radar-based approach he helped to develop that can be used to estimate the breaking off of glaciers at their end point (aka calving). He also discusses why this type of research is important for a global understanding of glacier melt and sea-level rise.
