R. Rajagopal received a B.S. in Mathematics/Physics, graduate-level training in statistics, a Master's degree in Operations Research, and a Ph.D. in Resource Management with an emphasis on ground-water pollution control. He is the founding editor of the interdisciplinary journal The Environmental Professional. In 1985, he received the National Association of Environmental Professionals' Distinguished Service Award. He has authored, coauthored, or edited over 100 journal articles, research reports, journals, and books in the fields of environmental science, management information systems, and ground-water quality monitoring. He is currently a Professor of Geography and Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Iowa.
Graham Tobin received a B.A. from the University of Durham, England and a Ph.D. from Strathclyde, Scotland. Following three years as Research Fellow at the University of Sheffield, England, he joined the faculty at the University of Iowa. He moved to the University of Minnesota (Duluth) in 1987, where he is an Associate Professor of Geography. His research and publications have been concerned with issues associated with water resources, particularly analyses of flooding, wetland management, and ground-water policies. He is currently chair of the Water Resources Specialty Group of the Association of American Geographers.
