Abstract
A tank barge for Powell Oil named D.F.O. & T. Co. No. 1 launches on September 30, 1977, from the Misener Industries shipyard located at 5353 West Tyson Avenue in Tampa, Florida.

A newly-built barge slides into the water from a ramp on the shore of a nearby shipyard, creating a large wake in front of it as it hits the surface. A large group of people is standing on a platform nearby, observing the scene. A large body of water and a motor bridge crossing it can be seen in the background.
