Abstract
The Benoist Airboat Type XIV No. 43 pictured on the water on January 1, 1914, opening day of the St. Petersburg-Tampa Airboat Line in St. Petersburg, Florida. Anthony H. "Tony" Jannus's voyage piloting the biplane across Tampa Bay marked the world's first commercial airline flight. The photograph depicts the biplane configuration and hull design.
