The note on the back of the photograph reads, "Charles E. Carter, Oologist almost touches incubating Willet on its nest and four large beautiful eggs. See nest-marker. Carter creeps up to the nest as D. J. Nicholson is poised to photograph bird as it flushes from nest. 10 Willet nests staked out April 23rd; and on April 24th; we returned to collect some of their lovely eggs and see how close we might approach nests on foot. Locality; Salt Marshes about 3/4 miles to the West of Crescent Beach, St. Johns County, Florida. Date, April 24, 1963."
