Abstract
A killdeer (Charadrius vociferus) shell nest. Note on back reads, "A remarkably clear A shell nest of a Killdeer photographed by Wray H. Nicholson, April 16, 1951, on small island in Lake Okeechobee, directly opposite and near the mouth of the Kissimmee River, Osceola County, Florida. Set 1/4 collected by D.J. Nicholson April 16, 1951. This is quite possibly the first and only set ever collected this far south in Florida and may constitute the most Southern breeding record to date. Other pairs on west side of the lake do extend farther South."
