Abstract
The publication date refers to the date of collection. A female common eider (Somateria mollissima) collected by Ralph Andrews and R.P. Allen in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. It is a large sea-duck with barred brown and black plumage. The photo was taken by Wes Biggs in January 1981.
