Abstract
A quantitative content analysis of 265 U.S. college and university websites found that genders differed significantly in representing stereotypes of Asians. Asian females tended to be portrayed with passive, submissive body postures, retaining certain stereotypical female features. However, they appeared more active when interacting with others and were more often the visual focus than Asian males; in contrast, Asian males are more likely than Asian females to be portrayed alone, submissive, in the background, and as an action receiver.
