Abstract
In this oral history interview, Arthur Lewis, DVM, MPH, details his experiences working in Florida’s virological laboratories. He describes his transition from veterinarian to public health officer and remarks on several public health concerns in Florida, including salmonella, St. Louis encephalitis, viral agents in water, and rabies. Lewis also discusses his work on the polio vaccine and his research into disease-causing bacteria (Leptospira) and ameba (Naegleria fowleri).
