Abstract
Dr. Charles Mahan speaks with Dr. E. Charlton “Skeeter” Prather on the highlights of his life and career in Florida Public Health. Prather speaks on his illustrious 35 tenure in public health, his academic inspiration for getting into the field of public health (a ninth grade librarian and the book Microbe Hunters by Paul de Kruif), and some of the key diseases Prather feels are some of the most impacting in his work (including Leptospirosis, Shigellosis, and Polio). Dr. Mahan also makes special note of Dr. Prather’s sole involvement in the foundation and creation of the oral history series in public health at the University of South Florida.
