Abstract
In this study 596 users of the website ZUNAL WebQuest Maker participated in an online survey conducted to identify users’ conceptions of the advantages and disadvantages of teaching with WebQuests, an inquiry-based instructional strategy involving Internet research. Findings from the study support previous research on the advantages of using WebQuests for instruction, including consensus that WebQuests are fun and motivating for students, promote computer literacy and development of critical thinking skills, and accommodate diverse learning needs. Literacy teacher educators can create WebQuests to model this instructional practice with preservice and inservice teachers.
