Abstract
Death certificate for Eugene McGhee. The certificate spells his surname McGee. The certificate says McGhee was struck by an automobile while walking on Gandy Bridge. However, the St. Petersburg Times on January 3, 1925, pages 1-2, reports that McGhee pulled over on the bridge to fix a taillight on his automobile. Another man, Maxwell Griffin, pulled over behind McGhee when an oil truck struck the back of Griffin's car, crushing McGhee between the two vehicles and igniting the gas tank of Griffin's automobile. Griffin and McGhee's wife Julia were both seriously injured by the flames.
