Abstract
Organizations today face unprecedented complexity in decision-making environments, where traditional Management Information Systems prove insufficient for handling the velocity, variety, and volume of contemporary business data. This research introduces Decision Intelligence as a strategic organizational capability, proposing a novel MIS framework specifically designed for AI-driven enterprises. The study addresses the critical gap between artificial intelligence technology adoption and effective organizational decision-making by developing an integrated framework that combines human judgment, machine intelligence, and organizational processes. Through comprehensive analysis of existing MIS architectures and emerging AI capabilities, we establish Decision Intelligence as a distinct discipline that transcends both traditional business intelligence and isolated AI implementations. Our framework identifies four core dimensions: augmented analytics, automated decision workflows, adaptive learning systems, and ethical governance structures. The research demonstrates that organizations treating Decision Intelligence as a strategic capability rather than a technological tool achieve superior outcomes in decision speed, accuracy, and organizational alignment. This work contributes to MIS theory by redefining information systems' role in the age of artificial intelligence while providing practitioners with actionable guidance for building Decision Intelligence capabilities within their enterprises.
