Abstract
Emily Holbrook interviews John Forest Turbiville about how he got involved in the Environmental Lands Acquisition and Protection Program (ELAPP) when he was a graduate student in geography at the University of South Florida. Turbiville speaks about his time as director of ELAPP and the conservation parks in Hillsborough County. Turbiville speaks in particular about prescribed burning (also referred to as controlled burning) and conservation land acquisition.
