Hampton Dunn Photouring Florida Collection

Hampton Dunn Photouring Florida Collection

Journalist Hampton Dunn wrote Photouring Florida as a syndicated column for various Florida newspapers in the 1960s and 70s, such as the Tampa Tribune and Pensacola Daily News. The column featured a brief story written about a single photograph of a Florida landmark. In 1959, he had become head of public relations for the Peninsula Motor Club, an affiliate of the American Automobile Association (AAA), later serving as vice president and president. His constant driving around the state gave Dunn the inspiration for the column, which once ran in as many as fifty newspapers.
