Dear Mamma:
Dark, water higher, boat pitching – feel like a top O.K. Writing in dark, mail called – will reach Key West in a little while. But I guess we will stay outside on account of 8 o’clock law. Water like bluing, gun on mast head most of day. Boat slow, sighted monitor. My Co. set of 1 fire–cracker just now – on stick off the ship – only noise today. Well love to all.
Goodbye Henry.
