Dear Papa:

Ordered somewhere probably to Tampa. Not well, water too much like Compound Cathartic whether boiled or not. Broke-- stomach could not hold bacon, to fat, had to buy bread and milk, that and the ride up drains me out. Can you help me at all? If so, I don’t know where you would send it yet. Pretty tough here, no water, no food, but no liquor anyways. Will try to write soon. Your son.
