Abstract

Oil pollution in or near coastal areas of Pinellas County, Florida. A collision between two barges and a freighter in 1993 caused oil to spill into Tampa Bay, the Gulf of Mexico, and local waterways.

Alt Text

A beach with a line of oily liquid along the shoreline, buildings and people walking along the beech visible in the background. There is a small structure and beach chairs with sun shades along the beach. The sand appears wet and partially covered with debris.
