Abstract

Oil pollution in or near coastal areas of Pinellas County, Florida. A collision between two barges and a freighter in 1993 caused oil to spill into Tampa Bay, the Gulf of Mexico, and local waterways.

Alt Text

A sandy beach with a line of dark liquid along the shoreline and a few people lying on the sand, with buildings visible in the background near the water's edge. The yellow line of a pier is visible stretching from the buildings out into the sea. The ocean stretches out to the horizon under a clear sky.
