Abstract

Oil pollution in or near coastal areas of Pinellas County, Florida. A collision between two barges and a freighter in 1993 caused oil to spill into Tampa Bay, the Gulf of Mexico, and local waterways.

Alt Text

A sandy beach with tire tracks leading to the water and a dark oily liquid along the shore, buildings visible in the background under a cloudy sky. The ocean waves gently meet the shore and there is an area sectioned with yellow tape, with barrels sitting on a white tarp.
