Abstract
This clip presents E.J. Salcines narrating the history of the outdoor patio of the El Círculo Cubano de Tampa, documenting its development and use as a venue for athletic events, performances, and community gatherings. Salcines describes boxing matches held regularly between the 1920s and 1930s, the installation of bleachers and, later, a terrazzo floor, and the construction of bandshells for concerts and dances. The account also notes performances by Cuban musicians, including Benny Moré and Celia Cruz, and the patio's continued use for music festivals and community events into the late 20th century.
