Note
Charles Felton served as the first Black Director of Corrections for Pinellas County as well as the first one in the state. In 1992, he was nominated by President George H.W. Bush to be the U.S. Marshall for the Middle District of Florida. In 1993, he became the Director of Corrections for Miami-Dade County.
