Abstract

This 3D point cloud is of a modest farm home in Plains, Georgia, the boyhood home of the 39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter. Today, the homestead, which includes several contributing and related structures and landscape areas, is part of the Jimmy Carter National Historical Park and is managed by the National Park Service. Our 3D laser scanning survey efforts at the site assist with long-term preservation and heritage tourism development for the park.

Alt Text

A three-dimensional model that depicts the childhood home of President Jimmy Carter. The model includes a rectangular, single-story house surrounded by tall trees and a central, fenced-in section of land that appears to have been used for farming. Due to the large and complex nature of the objects being depicted, the model has a slightly fuzzy appearance. The model can be rotated, moved, and zoomed in and out to allow for viewing of additional details at multiple angles.
