Cape Canaveral Space Force Station – 3D Historic Launch Complexes
Pad B and Equipment Building Launch Complex 20
Abstract
Launch Pad B is one of two identical, rectangular poured concrete launch pads measuring 2.3 x 2.3 m (25 x 25 ft) that was constructed for the Starbird rocket program at Launch Complex 20, Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. A 58-foot-tall metal rail launcher and a 341 square foot concrete launch equipment building were part of the small complex. The facility was also used for the short-lived Red Tigress program. In 1995, the rail launchers were removed leaving only the mounting ring and the equipment building. The facilities were abandoned in place where they remain and essentially unchanged.
