This presentation focuses on the current issues faced by ethnic students in today's classroom. The clear lack of multicultural literature being present in our classrooms causes many issues for the growing number of ethnic students, ranging from their disassociation towards the literature to their lack of motivation to learn from a Caucasian teacher with a lack of cultural understanding. The focus of this presentation will be to teach methods on how to incorporate multicultural literature into the classroom and how to engage in culturally responsive teaching.
