Abstract
Manuel Garcia, a prominent Tampa attorney, discusses Florida history and politics. The interview’s primary focus is on Tampa during the mid-20thcentury. Many politicians are discussed, including Claude Pepper, George Smathers, Nick Nuccio, and Dick Greco. Mr. Garcia also discusses bolita, a type of lottery popular in Tampa during the early 20thcentury, and its political role. The interview contains many stories about Tampa political figures.
