Abstract

This is an oral history interview with George Baxter, one of the founding members of the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay. He describes his childhood, education, family life, and his career as an accountant and in real estate. Baxter has also been involved with the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce and the Tampa Bay Estate Planning Council, and describes his association with those organizations. He explains how the Community Foundation was created in 1990, discusses how the Foundation works, and describes some of its projects.
