Director: Eric Hunter

Campus Recreation enriches the educational experience by empowering the university community to achieve holistic wellness by contributing to life long learning and promoting diversity, personal growth and exploration in safe, challenging and supportive environments. The Director of Campus Recreation is responsible for the administration of intramural sports, fitness programs, outdoor recreation, special events, and the Campus Recreation facilities.

Campus Recreation provides a variety of programs and recreational facilities for students, faculty, staff and the community. Students are invited to participate in a variety of recreational programs and facilities ranging from a state of the art fitness center housing group fitness classes, personal training, and the latest strength and cardiovascular conditioning equipment. The Campus Recreation department also administers a vibrant intramural program hosting over 150 student teams per sport and open to all students free of charge. Additionally, the Campus Recreation department operates a "Borrow Our Bike" program serving the transportation needs on campus as well as providing an outdoor adventure resource center. Adventure trips originate from this center as well as the operations of a beautiful USF Riverfront Park (just 1/4 mile east of campus on Hillsborough River). This park also has an exciting ropes challenge course open to the students and public. Campus Recreation also manages the Sport Clubs Program which are a registered student organizations formed by students with a common interest in a physical, sport activity that exists to promote and develop interest in that particular activity. These sport clubs participate in activities that are competitive, recreational, and instructional in nature. In addition to the above, Campus Recreation manages all recreation facilities on campus including tennis courts, pools, running trails, softball fields and multi-purpose recreation fields.

The Community also benefits from Campus Recreation through aquatic programming such as Learn to Swim Programs for children and CPR courses.
