Abstract

The previous 20 chapters in this volume have presented a tremendous amount of information on habitat structure. Although the authors tailored their definitions of habitat structure and the nature of their studies to the specific systems in which they are interested, the volume possesses themes which link the individual chapters together. Here, we present what we consider to be two major themes, and suggest how their recognition may prove productive in future studies.
