Abstract

Florimezzo provides educational and performance opportunities to students, music educators and community musicians, Members of the Florida Orchestra and other professional musicians serve as mentors (clinicians/coaches( by leading rehearsals and playing in the ensembles that perform in FloriMezzo concerts. Our organization is based on the philosophy that tremendous learning and exciting artisitc products are created in a cross-generational and cross-occupational environment. Our concerts reach a broad community base because of the diversity of our musicians. We program ensembles of all sizes to meet the needs of the wide variety of instruments played by our members. Our concerts provide audience members with the unique opportunity to hear fascinating, less frequently performed compositions, classic masterpieces and works by living composers in the Tampa Bay Area. Florimezzo has collaborated extensively with the Palladium Theater in productions of Madama Butterfly, Barber of Seville, and Die Fledermaus, and performed with Saint Petersburg Opera for La Bohème, The Elixer of Love, and Don Giovanni. Featured musicians include Robin Gieniewski, Diana Belcher, Eryn Bauer, Priscilla Rinehart, Jessica Wolfinger, Kathy Terry, Bruce Blowers, Robin Gieniewski, Andrew Brooks, Lane Lederer, Jason Gibbs, Brandon Beck, Mark Sforzini, Stephanie Greco, Brendan Murphy, Kathy Terry, Warren Powel, William Goodwin, Stephanie Greco, Jessica Calandra, Greg Zegel, Brendan Murphy, Danielle Rossbach, Byron Hogan, John Paul, Ron Bowers, Diana Belcher, Eileen Reynolds, Danny Colbert and Angel Beidler.
