Abstract

Your Real Stories Productions and Studio@620 collaborate to bring you “Decades of Day Work,” a series that uses live presentations, music, drama, and spoken word to celebrate the dignity of a day’s work! “Decades of Day Work” responds to the best-selling novel and blockbuster movie, “The Help.” Both of these introduced new generations of Americans to the restricted world of domestic workers in 1960’s Mississippi. Now, “Decades of Day Work” lets us hear the real stories from our friends and neighbors—from Black women who worked ‘in family’ and the White men and women who employed them. Come and be inspired.
