Abstract
RTP Live honors Black History Month with a special performance on Monday February 22, 2016. Join us for the world premiere of the radio play, "Natchez Trace." Former slave, Ned Forest recounts a tale of fire, terror and murder when he and his companion escape from bondage. They spend nights on the run with their owners and dogs in vicious pursuit. The play is written by Jeremy Simmons, whose research was informed by real places and names from the 1857 Natchez, Mississippi, fire. Studio@620 Artistic Director Bob Devin Jones will play the main character. With Matt Cowley's expert sound effects and sound design, it promises to keep you on the edge of the seat, while you experience that not so distant time in American history. Stay tuned! Radio Theatre Project will continue its 7th season, with "The Continuing Adventures of Noel Berlin, Cabaret Detective" and other radio pays on these Monday evenings.
