Abstract
Explore printmaking as an artistic medium and the various techniques employed by eight local artists. Printmaking has a utilitarian history, from first being used to print playing cards for entertainment and as a way to disseminate information to a large audience. But in the hands of a creative artist, printmaking takes on a new life and meaning. A variety of printmaking methods will be on exhibit including silkscreen, monotype, relief, and lithograph techniques as well as the tool and materials used in the process.
