Abstract

The Studio@620 salutes Black History Month with an exploration of selected iconic figures and a celebration of local talent. February’s schedule is filled with poetry readings, art exhibits, concerts, innovative dance performances, theatrical readings and more!

Special Black History Month Events Include:

• “Poets on Poets: A Showcase of Readings”, Feb. 6, 2020 @ 7 PM / $10 • Culteral Panel Discussion Feb.7, 2020 / 7 PM / Suggested donation $5

• “Emerging Artists of Color: A Group Exhibition”, Opening Saturday Feb. 8, 2020 5-9 PM / Free

• “Jazz Theory: A Dance-Jazz Collaboration” featuring projectALCHEMY and Jeremy Carter, Feb.14–15, 2020 / 7:30 PM / $20-$15 members

• Staged Reading of “Master Harold... and the Boys” by Athol Fugard, Directed and Featuring Bob Devin Jones, Monday, Feb. 17, 2020 / 7 PM / $20–$15 members

• “An Evening with Sharon Scott”, Thursday Feb. 27, 2020 / 7 PM / $25–$20 members

• “Black Icons: A Reflection on James Baldwin, Toni Morrison, Et al”, Friday Feb. 28, 2020 / 7 PM / $10

• “Hooked on the Art of Love” book release celebration and discussion with Dr. Gary Lemons, Saturday Feb. 29, 2020 / 7 PM / Suggested donation $5
